ABOUT

Head shot for Gary G. Young

A veteran of thirty-five years with over sixty-five films and a dozen television shows to his credit in both Los Angeles and currently in Vancouver, Gary has covered many roles as a creative.

The last ten years, Gary has worked as a lead sculptor for major motion pictures and television series. Some of his collective experience includes budgeting, scheduling, running crews of up to forty-five, as well as a vast knowledge of fabrication and problem-solving for complicated set builds.

Gary has also produced and directed video sequences for Sony PlayStation, operated and run his own Visual FX model shops, art directed Canada’s first stop-motion animated feature film, assisted art departments in previsualization, and sold a feature film script.

With the tight deadlines and high-pressure situations prevalent in the film industry, Gary prides himself on efficiency and completion and is familiar and comfortable with all aspects of filmmaking, from preproduction to on-set and post. He has had the good fortune of collaborating with a comprehensive list of professionals, including Oscar, Emmy, and ADG award nominees and winners.

On a personal level, he has experienced the ever-changing evolution of filmmaking and its paradigm shift and looks forward to producing his own film projects.
